As per the Altimeter’s 2018-2019 report on “The State of Digital Transformation,” 54 percent of organizations are searching for ways to modernize the employee participation and commitment long term.
Technology gives HR professionals the capability to create a new level of satisfaction for the employees and presents the company more adaptive and flexible. Normal processes become modernized with procedures such as registering an expense report, time off permissions, employee handbook sign-offs, and so on. The technology eradicates the need for large amounts of time to be spent on an administrative task that can, in its essence, be monotonous. As such, employees are able to contribute more time working, thus increasing fecundity and engagement. For the HR professional, business becomes strategy-focused, where ere it was more transactional.
Onboarding is a normal activity at every company, but not all company does it well. The answer is RPA (robotic process automation), also commonly attributed to as robotics or only robots. One does not have to think of actual robots here, however, with their right-angled shapes and tubular arms. No, these are software robots that computerize processes, specifically those that are repetitive and governed by a particular set of commands.
For the worker, an RPA or a data-driven onboarding experience can make them feel appreciated rather than ignored. In the pre-RPA days, a fresh employee would be required to fill out sheet after sheet of personal information. In some situations, the new employee would record and re-write their mailing location upwards of five to eight times. The same could be stated about their phone number and other essential pieces of knowledge. Robotic process automation transforms that a thing of the past, because with RPA, these forms can now be pre-populated with information accumulating the new employee much needed time and energy. Instead, that experience can then be better employed by spending more one-on-one time with HR, engaging recently appointed team members, and getting to know the crucial pieces of their new job competencies.
For human resources, robotic process automation takes command of the more manual, monotonous tasks. Furthermore, RPA can assist HR in ensuring complete agreement. The professional world is continuously innovating when it comes to regulation. For the HR specialist, it’s a never-ending competition to stay ahead. Through robotic process automation, applications, protocols, and so on can be mechanically implemented. This preserves HR from missing a significant compliance deadline and the corporation from dealing with penalties and or potential forms of loss.
