Parent of Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, Yum! Brands has recently acquired Tictuk Technologies, a leading Israeli Omnichannel marketing and ordering platform. The latest addition will give the Company the ability to offer its customers more ways to access and order its Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell brands through different conversational and social media platforms.
Tictuk technologies is Yum! Brands’ second technology acquisition in less than a month. Earlier, the Taco Bell owner had bought Kvantum, a company that provides customer insights and marketing performance analytics using artificial intelligence. After this move, the digital sales of the Company hit a record of $17 billion, up about 45% from the prior year. Yum! Brands has been working with Kvantum in various global markets and plans to leverage its services internationally to enhance the Company’s ability to apply data analytics and powerful consumer insights to enable data-driven marketing decisions to better leverage media budgets and boost sales.
Founded in 2016, Tictuk Technologies is a privately held company based in Tel Aviv, Israel that uses chat and social media channels, like Facebook and SMS chats, messenger, and WhatsApp to reach customers. The platform also leverages a hybrid of the web, advertisements, chat, and intelligent marketing technology to engage with consumers. It also seamlessly integrates with Point Of Sale and existing payment systems and works for all types of customer engagement, including delivery, in-restaurant dining, and curbside pick-up.
According to Yum! Brands, its growth model involves investment in digital and the latest technologies to strengthen restaurant unit economics and enhance the customer and employee experience. The Company continues to accelerate its digital commerce strategy by integrating emerging technologies, data, and advanced analytics.
Tictuk’s business unit will continue to offer its platform to its current clients under Yum! Brands now.
Yum! Brands has successfully deployed Tictuk’s platform in approximately 900 KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell restaurants across 35 countries outside of the U.S. With the acquisition, the Company plans to scale and offer Tictuk’s Omnichannel ordering capabilities to more markets and franchisees globally.
After a year of record-breaking digital sales, Yum! Brands is continuing to invest in its international technology-enabled growth strategy. With both the acquisitions, Yum! Brands expects to boost its financial results in 2021 and increase the Company’s ability to grow digital sales as they are deployed over time in markets around the world.
